Launch event of the Structural Funds Watch advocacy report at the European Parliament

This report launch event is being organised by the independent initiative Community Living for Europe: Structural Funds Watch (CLE:SFW). It will take place in the European parliament in Brussels.

The report will highlight the role of the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) with respect to the transition from institutional to family- and community-based care and independent living for children and young people, including those with disabilities, adults with disabilities and older persons in EU Member States. It contains examples, both of how the funds have made a positive tangible difference and where there is still more to do. The report will show how Member States have implemented the ESIF regulations, and how they are currently using or are planning to use the ESIF to support the transition process. Furthermore, it will provide concrete recommendations for the current and the next funding period post2020 and reflection on the proposed European Commission Cohesion Policy Regulations.6

At the event, a presentation of the report, its findings and recommendations will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from the European Parliament, the European Commission and other EU institutions and bodies such as the EU Fundamental Rights Agency, international organisations, national governments, recognised experts/civil society
